The Boys Michael, The groom Bruce, Dad Robbie, and Best man Jason

The wedding has come and gone and it was wonderful. Both the Bride and Groom looked so happy and beautiful. The ceremony was good too. The groom's brothers cleaned up well also. They are in Honolulu now and enjoying the warm weather.

Long time

Wow it has been a long time since I last posted. I have been very busy with my knitting and eating. Knitting good, food bad. At least I have gotten the food under control. I don't want to blow a 50 pound loss. YIPPEE 50 pounds. Very happy.

As for knitting, finished monkey socks (jitterbug yarn), mystery socks (regia, cherry tree hill, and knit picks yarns), vanilla socks for dh (encore), and wicked for me(malabrigo). Started mr greenjeans (jojoland rhythm) and firestarter (jitterbug).

I liked the jitterbug, knitted nice and the color is great. The three yarns I used for the mystery sock were okay, but I don't think that I would be the regia again. Encore wasn't bad, dh really likes them and would make them for him again. Now the malabrigo was the best so far. I want more and more and more. The jojoland is very pretty. Love how the colors change. I think mr greenjeans will look great.

Me and Wicked.

The other great thing that happened is that I was able to knit on the Big Sock. This is a cool project that was started in England in 2006 and has traveled around the world with groups of knitter young and old knitting on it. It is trying to break the worlds record of the largest sock.

Weekend

Well had a really rough weekend. Too much wine and food. I don't think that I will make the 1.4 pounds off to make 50 pounds total. I am just hoping for no gain. Went to a good Chinese restaurant this weekend and had steamed veggies and white rice. that was okay, but when I got home DH wanted his own Chinese food, so stupidly I had more. Oh shoot.

I finished one of the monkey no purl socks this week and it fits and looks great. Started to other one, but have picked up the tank top too. Last weeks mystery sock was turning the heel, so that is done on both socks. Hope to finish up the mystery sock this week. At least I hope all the clues will be done so that I can start a new sock, probably for my DH since I have promised him one for quite some time.

Knitting socks

I have a new love and it is knitting socks. I am doing the mystery socks on ravelry and also started toe up, no purl monkey socks. I am having so much fun.

I can't wait to see what these socks will look like when they are done. So far they fit so I guess I am doing something right.

Well it will be a very interest few weeks for me. I am really going to have to watch what I eat since I have so many different dinner parties to go to for the rest of this month. Saturday 11th at MIL for seafood soup, Sunday the 12th, son Jason's birthday, Monday at MIL for leftovers then next Saturday 18th Duck Unlimited Dinner and Sunday the 19th birthday dinner for Keesha at chinese resturant. I am really going to have to hit the gym and take very small portions. It will be complicated, but I am up for the challenge. Need to lose more weight before Feburary.

Sunday Blues

Well this week has been fun. Started two different KAL with socks. One is a mystery one for socktoberfest and the other is just an Oct one. So far so good. I did finish Hey Teach, well still need to put on the buttons. I really like it. It is a little bit small, but I will get into eventually. I started working on a tank top, but have gotten a little bit bored with it. It has two different laces and it is really pretty. I am doing it in Bamboo from South West Trading Company. It is a pretty multi purple. I do like to knit with this bamboo yarn.

My son Bruce and his fiance got themselves an appartment so I am very happy about that since the wedding is coming up soon. I have to admit that I was a little worried that they would be moving into my basement. I didn't want them to move into my basement. It would have drove me crazy. Bruce still lives here, but goes and "visits" Keesha. It is all good to me. I want them to see what life is like on their own before they get married.

Well let see. I found a couple of stupid mistakes in the earlier posts. I have been married to Robbie for 22 years this September 20th, not 23. And I have now lost 46 pounds and am in onderland. So very happy about that.

This is my step dad Ron and the hat that I made for him. I liked it so much that he gave me more yarn for another one. He says that you can't have too many hats. Haven't started it yet cause I am doing a tank top with two different types of lace and mystery stole #4. Just completed clue #1 only 3 clues behind, but it took me a while to decide what yarn I wanted to use and what color beads to use.

Hat blues

Second day knitting the seamans cap for my dad and noticed that my hands were turning blue. Shoot. Now will have to wash it to get all of the loose dye out before I can give it to him. I was really hoping to go out to his house and give it to him today, but no such luck. But I will be done knitting it today. It is a fun, quick hat. I may make more of them in the next few weeks, but not sure. Need to get back to Hey Teach.

First Blog

Well this is my first blog. Don't quite know what I will blog about, life, love, kids, weight loss, and knitting.

My three sons Bruce, Michael and Jason.

Bruce is the oldest and is now 21 years old. He is getting married in December 2008. Michael is the baby and is 16 years old. He is a junior in high school. Jason is the middle kid and is 19 years old, but will be 20 in October. He is getting married in July 2009.

This is my husband of 22 years, 23 on September 20th. His name is Robbie and he has been a great husband, friend, provider and father. I met him at work (he was the bosses son) and I was the secretary. We were both young and stupid. Started dating in December, moved in together in May and married that September. Both sets of parents were worried that we were rushing things, but we didn't listen. We have had our ups and downs, but through it all we are still going strong. That is what I hope for my sons as they set off in their new lives with two great girls.

As for knitting, it keeps me sane. If I didn't do something with my hands I would likely eat myself to an early grave. I have made a few pieces of clothing and have found that I really enjoy making things to wear. I especially enjoy knitting tank tops so that is what I am focusing on now. I am also in the process of making a hat for my step-dad and Hey Teach from Knitty. I am on ravelry as patsand and find that I spend too much time there.

I am a weight watcher person trying to get to lifetime again. I have so far lost 34.8 pounds and am almost to onederland. Can't wait 200.2 right now. Was sad that I didn't lose enough this week to get there, but I will get there and then I will be happy. My ultimate goal is to be 135 pounds, but my lifetime goal is 144.
