Stash

Well today I spent the morning reworking my yarn stash. Wow found a lot of sock yarn. If I knitted up all of that sock yarn I wouldn't need to buy any socks for quite a while.  I also found out that I did decrease my yardage last year. Need to shop my stash this year and make lots and lots of socks. Good thing I like to knit them. LOL!!!

Broken heating pipe.

Man do I hate it when you run out of fuel late at night, freeze the heating pipe upstairs and find a broken pipe. Then you thank God that your still frozen up so that your expensive treadmill didn't get flooded. This is what I did this weekend. Found broken pipe tonight. Still don't have heat upstairs, but have electric heaters keeping the upstairs warm. Did you know that the call out fee for fuel oil is 75.00?!!!!

Birthday

Today is my 44th birthday. Very cold outside, but we went to the movies. Saw Sherlock. If you haven't seen it you should. It is a very good movie with funny parts and good action parts too. I highly recommend this movie with two thumbs up!!!! LOL.

But man I couldn't believe the prices for popcorn and soda/bottle water. I paid 6.00 for a small unbuttered popcorn and 4.50 for a large bottled water. Way too much.

Spinning triumph

My first spinning triumph today. I am so very happy. It isn't the best or tightest spin, but I finally got the fiber to draft onto the bobbin. Success. Love this Ashford Traveller. Will have to look into getting my own. This one is a rental from A Weaver's Yarn. Thanks Susan for letting me come by today, even though she was closed for inventory to exchange wheels.

365 picture

I have decided to take a picture every day for the next year and blog about it. So many other bloggers are doing this so I know that it is a bit redundant, but it sounds like so much fun.

First picture is of me so that I can see how much weight I will have lost by the time I am done with the year. My goal is to lose at least 60 pounds by December 31, 2010. I am really hoping that I can get it done.

Playing

Well today I had a great time trying to figure out how to put work in progress and finished items on my blog page. Thanks to Casey and Sarahspins I got it done!!!!! So very happy with it. I am not computer savvy when it comes to html or programing in general. I did take computer programming in hs and in college, but that was a lifetime ago.

Had a great Thanksgiving with the in-laws. Even had Great Aunt Marg come and share in the feast with us.She brought me a beautiful Poinsettia. Boy I LOVE my iPhone. Takes good pictures and downloads right to my flickr account. No more transferring it to my computer, but if I want really good photos, still have to use my digtal camera.

Snapdragon Tam in Malabrigo Apricot colorway. This pattern is from Ysolda Teague http://www.ysolda.com/. Loving the pattern, but I made it a little too big, but that is alright. I am also making the mittens to match.
