Advent calendar scarf day 1&2

Started advent calendar scarf mystery KAL last night and have 1 clue done and started the 2nd one today.



Loving it so far except the yarn is staining my fingers. So now I have pink tipped fingers. Oh well.

fog?

Wow after 3 days of rain, now it is very foggy. this has got to be the weirdiest weather.

November socks

SKA mystery socks are now done. These are STR lightweight Rare gems. Love them. It is hard to see the pattern, but they are squishy goodness. I have to finish hubby's socks for xmas. May restart them cause I think that they will be too small.

This is Alaska right?!!!

Freezing rain, no school so Michael is home.  Hubby says the roads are bad so I have to stay home. That's okay since I didn't want to go out anyway. Wonder what tomorrow will bring?!!!

Two projects

Wow I totally finished two projects. Citron shawl and Urchin hat. Now my poor thumb is very sore this morning. Hope it feels better soon.

Winter day

Michael passed his driver’s test yesterday. So very happy for him and for me. Now I don’t have to do anymore teaching. Now he needs a job, needs a car and insurance. Momma isn’t going to share her car.

Knitting catch up

well I have been a busy girl. This week I finished Mystery shetland Pi shawl and Qiviut Cowl. I started Ishbel shawl. Loving these so much. qiviut cowl and mystery shetland pi shawl, only problem is that I haven't figured out how to post pictures from flickr since they changed. the cowl is actually purple not blue.

On the diet front, things are going very slowly, but I am still losing so that is a good thing.

Finally got the sweater done. Loved knitting it, but the collar was a pain in the BUTT!!!! Fits really nice.

Finished this hat in one evening. So much fun. It is Unoriginal Hat by Stephie-Pearl McPhee knit with Malabrigo Aquarella on size 11 needles.

I'm Back

I am back again. I have been a busy little knitter. I have finished three pairs of great socks this month.

Cotty by Irishgirlieknits. Love the pattern a lot. I did do them toe up so the heel is a little different, but that is okay with me.

Lace and Cable by Wendy Johnson out of STR mw Dragon Dance. Loved these socks and did them 2 at a time.

These are Hermiones everday socks by Erica Lueder out of STR lw Covelite. These are going to be my go to socks. They are fast and so much fun.


On the weight loss front I have found my mojo again. I have been able to lose 6.6 pounds in two weeks. So very happy about that. I am plugging along and enjoying this so far.

long time no write

Wow long time no write. Haven't been finishing things as well as I should be. Did finish a pair of vanilla socks for hubby last week and he likes them, so that is a good thing. Also have finished a pair of socks for me, but didn't take a picture of them. Leaf pattern turned out great on them. Will take pic after they are washed.

OTN: Barcelona socks out of handmaiden cashbah sock in safari. Love cashbah so soft and squooshy.
Brandywine Shawl out of Malabrigo sock. Can't remember colorway but it is a very dark and beautiful blue.

On the diet scene, not so good. Need to get my mojo back. Hoping that I can real soon.

No picture

I have no picture tonight, but thought that I would write anyway. Had a great program week this week. Had a loss of 3.2 pounds so I am very happy about that. Feeling better about a lot of things in my life. Ankle is finally getting better. I am able to workout again and I know that it helps my attitude. I am not going to let myself get down, I am going to be okay at the end of it all.

mondo cable pulli

finished my Mondo Cable pulli and made it a mondo cable pulli hoodie. Love it. It does fit, but now the snow is melting so I will not be wearing this until next year. I still need to block it, but couldn't wait to get a picture of it

PEEPS

OMG, chocolate covered PEEPS. I can't believe it. I totally love Peeps, Easter is not Easter without Peeps. Now these are going to be my to go candy for Easter.

new ankle

Well bruises are almost gone. Still really swollen. Can't wait until it is all better. Still hurts like a "dirty word" at times. Doc was kind of worried about the bruising on top of foot. Kind of funny since they didn't seem to care about the top of my foot until Friday. Well no toes or foot bones broken.

Tired

I am so tired of wearing this stupid boot at night. I also feel so bad that I still need pt cause it isn't getting better as fast as I wish it was. DH is so good about it. He says keep going to pt, keep wearing the boot, keep sitting around the house knitting, he will take care of me. He works so hard. He is so good.

hat crazy

Okay this is Ron's 3rd hat. It is driving me crazy. I can't believe that he wants another hat. Hats are fun to knit, but he wants this before the end of the month. I was trying to knit Mondo Cable Pulli before the end of the month.

Here is my Mondo Cable Pulli. this is so much fun to knit. Loving the yarn, loving the pattern. I could see making this pattern again. I am on the second ball of yarn and have 6 more balls to go. Probably will use 4-5 skeins of yarn for this pattern.

Had my first physical therapy appointment today. It went well, but really sore afterwards. need to get better so that I can drive again. Have totally missed my knitting group and all of my knitting friends. They rock!!!!!!

Wow

Well here I am again. Since I hurt my ankle I have been knitting like crazy. Finished Clapotis in record time. finished Grandma's entreloc scarf that I started before Hawaii. No picture of it yet. Working on Proper Etiquette socks from Creative Knitting Mag. Love Jitterbug yarn and this color is great. I am only on the first sock, but lace repeat isn't too hard to do.

Foot is feeling better. Now can walk around the house without boot, but don't want to go out without the boot in case I should slip or twist ankle. All of the swelling has gone down, but still very bruised. Hoping to be driving by the end of next week.  Hubby has been spoiling me, but my house is driving me crazy. It is getting a little messy, so will have to start slowly working on it.

Bruises

Sore ankle. Can't believe how much it has bruised up. Having to wear the walking boot is driving me crazy. Oh well.

Moon

Well just had to try to get a great picture of the moon tonight. It is so pretty just wish I had used a "real" camera not the iPhone camera, but so glad I have iPhone cause I don't usually have a camera on my person.

Wow have I been bad

Well I did have every intention on doing a picture every day, but it is really hard to decided what to take a picture of. I mean I could take a picture of my knitting every day all the changes that I did on a project. I could take pictures of the weather, but who wants to keep seeing snow and ice fog every day. I know I don't want to. Then there are pictures of the family, but we don't change all that much and I think Michael would have gotten really tired of me putting a camera in his face. He is after all 17yrs and doesn't like his picture taken. So I guess it will be a every few days of finished projects and new snow fall or the Hawaiian vacation that is coming up very quickly.

Today's picture is of a pair of fingerless gloves I finished this morning. Adjusted the pattern from fingered gloves so they were fun.













Now working on a entrelac scarf. I have made this scarf before so it is a quick knit for easy gifts. Love Noro Silk Garden.

Colonnade

Finished shawl last night. Not sure if I like the
colors together, but like thte pattern. Still have to block it. Now have to decide what to start next or maybe what to finish.

This morning there was a moose in the front yard, but couldn't get a good pic of it. Shoot!!!

Krok Socks

These were so much fun to crochet and very fast. finished one last night and had to do only two rows this morning to complete the other.

I plyed yarn

I Navajo plied yarn!!! Can't believe I did it on the first try. Love how it turned out. So now need to get a more consistant twist, but for right now I am very very happy!!!!

Well got a haircut today. Not too sure about, but it is better than the last one. Except for the fact that the hairdresser never listens to me. I don't go for "big" hair and she does it to me every time. I wore my hat until it calmed back down.

spinning crazy

 Last night I couldn't sleep and I spun up 3 oz silk and merino in an orange colorway. When the spin is set I will take a picture of it. Also spun up some odds and ends. My next spinning fiber is Corriedale from  http://www.dyakcraft.com/. I can't wait to try it out. Will probably do that tomorrow after getting my hair cut.

Weighed in today and had a 1.6 pound loss. Lost weight two weeks in a row!!! Time to throw a party!!!! LOL. Also second week of exercise. Like it so far.

Opps forgot to take a picture yesterday. Well today's picture is Robbie's birthday socks. I did the second sock in three days. Boy do my fingers hurt!!!!

My homespun all plied up. Not the greatest in the world, but I am very happy with it. now need to save my money and buy my own spinning wheel.

Puppy

My son's new puppy. He is so small and so cute and so tired!!! His name is Tipsy and he is about 7 weeks old.

Boy this is harder than I thought. Trying to come up with a different picture every day. So tonight is my favorite nuts Chipotle Cashews from Safeway. I just love them. Spicey and salty and just plain good.

Pretty Yarn

I received this pretty yarn last night from Ginny as a prize for Christmas Knitting. Love it. The purples are so rich. Not sure what I am going to make with it yet, but I will be doing it soon.

Weighed in today and had a pound loss. :-) Very happy with that. Any loss is a good loss.

Baby Surprise Jacket

All done, well almost just need buttons. I really enjoyed knitting this and now understand why this is a popular pattern. I did use the line by line instructions cause there is no way on this earth that I could have followed Elizabeth Zimmerman's instructions. I will be making more of these for the grandkids that have yet to be born. Not rushing that though. Not ready to be grandma, just ready to make baby sweaters.
