Great Week

This last week has been a very good week. It started out with my Kromski 24" Harp Loom showed up on Thursday.

I got it all set up and did a 2.5 yard warp on the back of the loom.

Then I started to weave, but I really didn't like how this cotton yarn was working, so I rewarped it.

I decided to try an 8 dent, worsted weight yarn for the warp. It is Fisherman's wool and the weft is leftover Noro Kureyon. I'm liking the fabric that I'm getting so much better than the first try. It is staying more even. I think that I was able to get the warp a lot tighter this time.

On the spinning front, I finished a 466 yard skein of a mixed BFL. Also started doing the Louet BFL so that I can ply it with the Crown Mountain that I have waiting.

As for knitting, I frogged and restarted The Old Man and The Sea. I decided that since I'm loosing weight, that I should knit this sweater to fit me later instead of now. I also went up a needle size and really like how it looks so much better than the other sweater.

Weigh in was good this week. 2.4 off. Total of 7 pounds so far. Slow and steady wins the race. I keep repeating that to myself. Need to get the treadmill more so that is my goal for the next week.

Weigh in

I lost what I gained last week. Back to 4.4 loss since restarting Weight Watchers last month. I will take it. Need to add some workouts to my weight loss program.

Book buying frenzy

I have been on a book buying frenzy for the past two weeks. Yesterday was particularly bad.
Yesterday I bought Weaving Made Easy by Liz Gipson, the Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet #2 by Hunter Hammersen, Knit A Monster Nursery by Rebecca Danger and Norwegian Sweater Techniques for Today's Knitter by Therese Chynoweth.

Also in the picture is What to Knit When You're Expecting by Nikki Van De Car and Knit to Flatter by Amy Herzog (also bought the Craftys class).

I really did have a goal of not buying patterns, books, ect.. but oh well.

Hubby bought me a Kromski Rigid Heddle Loom for mother's day so I'm patiently waiting for it to show up. I have never weaved before, but it just looks like so much fun. Hoping to use up a lot of sock yarn and make presents for all my family.

On the knitting front, I have finished my Elizabeth Shawl. There are a few errors in my knitting, but all in all I love it.

I also began the Old man and the sea using Blue Moon fiber arts in the Woobu base in the Bittersweet colorway. I started too early for the KAL in the Single Handed Knits podcast group, oops. Very enjoyable knit so far.
Spinning front, I have done some. I am spinning BFL in a brown and a silvery brown and plying them together. I'm hoping for a sport or dk weight for a sweater. So far love spinning the fiber. It has been very easy to do. It is hard to see the difference in this picture, but having them sitting side by side, I can definitely tell they are two different colors. I still have a little under a pound to spin of each color, but have run out of bobbins, so need to finish up plying before I can start again.

Weigh in last Thursday was a gain. I knew it would be after the week of sickness was over. Will put a brief post in about this Thursday's weigh in tomorrow.

Wow, big loss

Weigh in on Thursday was incredible. 4.4 pounds off. I know it had a lot to do with not eating on Sunday, hardly eating Monday-Wednesday. I hate stomach issues. Started eating better on Thursday so hopefully will have a loss. Also didn't workout during that time.

I did some spinning on Saturday and it felt great.

No knitting happened this week. Just couldn't find my grove, especially with the stomach issues.

Lots of knitting.

This week there has been a lot to knitting, and some frogging. I started and frogged Oak leaves cardigan. It was turning out way too small in the sleeves. This project would be better after I lose weight to try again. I also started a baby hat and a baby sweater. I made some progress on Elizabeth shawl.

baby sweater, cascade yarn Pacific size 8 us

Elizabeth shawl, Highland Handmades Laural lace, us 3
baby hat, Socks that Rock Medium, us 2

No spinning so far this week. Every time I think about it, something else comes up. I do want to start again, better luck next week.

Went to my first Weight Watchers meeting (well the first for this try) and I think it went well. I feel energized and full of hope. Watching my intake and exercise I should be able to get this weight off.
